    Description

This belt is from the estate of my great-aunt, a Choctaw citizen and collector of Native American art and fine jewelry.  While not "fine" jewelry like her other pieces, this is a hand beaded belt that she likely picked up at the annual Choctaw festival.  Best guess is that it's from the 1980's, based on the style (these stretchy belts with this type of clasp were popular in the 1980's, and I suspect that a Choctaw artist made it to blend the old with the new).
Beadwork is very well done - woven togehter on strechy cord, so the belt stretches around your waist.  Features a native design, all the beads are intact with one exception (a single bead, see where my finger is pointing in the 5th photo).  The 6th photo shows how the pattern will look if it's stretched out to fit a larger belt size.
The only damage to the belt is where it connects to the buckle - the connecting thread has come loose, but could be easily repaired.  The connecting thread is separate from the thread that keeps the beads together, so there's no risk of the whole thing coming unraveled.
Belt is 2.5" wide, the belt circumference is 30" (but stretchy, so will fit waist sizes 30" through roughly 36", depending on snugness)
