Plains Indian Beaded Belt - Vintage & Beautiful!

Presented today is this vintage and very beautiful Plains Indian Beaded Leather Belt. It comes from an estate of a dear, departed friend who was a respected lecturer, teacher and museum curator. She was part Cheyenne, and lectured and demonstrated extensively on Plains Indian cultures. Also, in the 1960's, she
traveled the northern plains on the Pow Wow circuit, participating in dances, either singly or with a dance troupe. i believe this belt dates from that time. The beadwork is in excellent condition, without any bead loss. The beaded portion of the belt measures 36 inches long and 2 and a half inches across. The backing is a black cloth that gives the piece a startling, dramatic appearance.
