Presented today is this vintage Plains Indian Beaded Leggings. They come from an estate of a dear, departed friend who was a respected lecturer, teacher and museum curator. She was part Cheyenne, and lectured and demonstrated extensively on Plains Indian cultures. Also, in the 1960's, she
traveled the northern plains on the Pow Wow circuit, participating in dances, either singly or with a dance troupe. i believe this pair of leggings date from that time. The beadwork is in excellent condition, and the leather is very soft and supple. They each measure 12 by 17 inches.
