    Description

Even though these look like moccasins, the soles are not made of extra thick leather so they would have been worn as indoor slippers instead. They are all hand sewn in a way that hides/preserves the stitching of the various components and the ankle area has a hand cut scalloped border sewn onto the main body. The glass bead decoration was also put in place by hand.
I purchased these from a woman who stated she actually had an early photograph of a Sioux woman wearing these put she couldn't find it; what a shame! She dated them to the 1930's though I am not an expert in such so I'll leave it up to the bidders to decide age and tribal affiliation?
They are old and show a lot of wear on the bottom as well as the inside but overall they are in pretty decent shape and display nicely on a wall (I used velcro on the backside of heals to hang them on the wall).
