    This item is USGS Circular 605,
    Gold Distribution on the Sea Floor off the Klamath Mountains, California.
    Published in 1968, there can’t be many of these around! This 9-page booklet has information about the presence of gold in the sediments off the Northern California coast. The study was done only with sea floor samples – not by drilling the sea floor - and still showed up a large area of increased gold values! The area covered is about 100 miles long with its northern end at about the Oregon state line.
    This is a cool booklet I rarely run across in my USGS dealings, and it tells an unusual story about the geology of the area. It is in quite good condition, with hardly a flaw to report. It is really in like-new condition; although I can’t swear it is new, only that it has been well cared for, wherever it was. All in all it is a rare item on an interesting area and it is in great shape.
