    Description

ONLY ONE AVAILABLE!!  WON'T LAST THE YEAR!!
This is USGS Professional Paper 638,
Geology and Magnetite Deposits of the Franklin Furnace Quadrangle and part of the Hamburg Quadrangle, New Jersey
. This publication consists of the 73-page book and BOTH OF THE ORIGINAL GEOLOGIC MAPS, one of which is a LARGE FULL COLOR MAP! This was published in 1970. This is a fascinating publication that documents this famous mining region. Among the deposits described are:
    Sherman-Bunker deposits
    Ford-Schofield-Dodge mines
    Edison deposits
    And other deposits.
This scarce report describes in great detail the many unusual rock types found in this area, and describes the ore deposits as well. There are indeed some strange rocks in this area, the weirdest of which is probably epidote-scapolite-quartz gneiss. That’s some weird rock! This is a historic mining area and this publication is an essential part of the literature on it. This would make a great resource for the historian, geologist, mineral collector, or virtually anybody else that is interested in this area. Don’t miss this rare opportunity - I don't see these come along very often. To find it complete with all the maps is uncommon.
