  • Condition: Minor fading along the spine and edges of the cover. Minor corner bumping. Pages and maps slightly yellowed. Maps in excellent condition. Small spot on back cover. Some irregular yellowing of a couple maps. Still quite good condition for a report of its age.

    This is USGS Bulletin 936-F, “
    Quicksilver Deposits of the Parkfield District, California
    ”. Published in 1942, this is a scarce item. This 27-page book is in great condition and comes complete with ALL FOUR OF THE ORIGINAL MAPS! Three of the maps are foldout maps bound into the book. The fourth comes in a pocket in the back of the book. Two are color maps.
    This report documents not only the many productive mercury mines of the area, but also describes some chromite, manganese and antimony deposits as well. Among the minerals found in this area are:
