    Description

    INTERESTING VINTAGE WASHINGTON GEOLOGY REPORT!!
This is Washington Geologic Survey Bulletin 32,
The Geology of Washington, Part 1, General Features of Washington Geology
. This 70-page book published in 1936 was to accompany the preliminary geologic map of the same year. Unfortunately I don't have the map, but this is a good stand-alone book on the geology of the state, and as I read it I didn't feel like the map was necessary to understand the text.
I've included pictures of the Table of Contents to give you an idea what's inside, but as you would expect, it covers all the age groups of formations in the state in general terms - there is not enough room to go into great detail - and provides a geologic history of the state. Of course this is all pre-plate tectonics, so the discussion really harks back to an earlier understanding of Earth processes, which makes it pretty cool. A neat piece of Washington history and geology. Priced accordingly since the map is missing.
