    Description

    FAMOUS MINERAL LOCALE!!
    This is USGS Circular 294,
Results of Reconnaissance for Radioactive Minerals in Parts of the Alma District, Park County, Colorado.
Published in 1953 this 9-page book is interesting reading on the mineral deposits of Colorado. Contains a large fold out map bound into the book and a table of localities that were examined as well as specific discussion of some areas. Localities in the table correspond with those shown on the map. It is in great condition and looks like it has scarcely been used at all.
This district is famous for the incredible rhodochrosite that came from it, but who knew that was uranium in the area?
This is a really interesting report on a cool mineral area and a histor
ic mining area. These are even more scarce than USGS bulletins.
