    Description

ALWAYS POPULAR WHEN I CAN GET ONE!!
    This is USGS Bulletin 1138,
Geology and Uranium Occurrences of the Northern Half of the Lehighton, Pennsylvania, Quadrangle and Adjoining Areas
. Published in 1963 this is a scarce item. It includes the 97-page book and both of the original maps, one of which is a large
    full color geology
map, the other being a two-color (black and red) map with cross-sections.
This is an interesting publication that gives a complete treatment of the geology of the area and focuses attention on the uranium occurrences there. Among the minerals found in the area are numerous very rare species, many of which are brightly colored and desirable. Minerals from this area include these unusual species:
    Kasolite
    Uranophane
    Clausthalite
    Uraninite
    Autunite
    Torbernite
    Malachite
    Carnotite
    Tyuyamunite
    Liebigite
    Beaturanophane
    Andersonite
    Schroeckingerite
In addition, other mineralization is present in the area and includes the following minerals:
    Galena
    Chalcopyrite
    Sphalerite
    Pyrite
Some of the mineral occurrences are from road cuts, so the collecting potential here seems good. Here is a great opportunity to own a rare publication on unusual minerals in a surprising part of the country.
