    Description

    LAST ONE!!
This is USGS Bulletin 1074-A, “
Mineralogical Classification of Uranium-Vanadium Deposits of the Colorado Plateau
.” Published in 1957, this is a scarce and interesting report that seeks to organize deposits of these metals according to their mineralogy. The minerals present represent different types of original deposits, and the state of oxidation of each of the types is also considered. It is an interesting way to sort out the varied mineralogy of the ore deposits of the area and make some sense of the. It is short -just 5 pages - but makes a pretty helpful guide if you are interested in the minerals of these deposits, many of which are scarce. It comes with a map that covers all four of the Four Corners states, and shows with symbols the classification of
    many named mines
around the region. It is quite a wealth of information, and if you were looking for oxidized uranium deposits with colorful minerals, this would be a big help, I would think. I've never seen a map like it.
This is a great old report on this interesting area, sure to be of interest to mineral collectors, historians, and residents of the area.
