    Description

    SCARCE ITEM!!
This is USGS Bulletin 1198-B, “
Geochemical Prospecting in the Copper Belt of Vermont
.” Published in 1965, this 28-page book details a study of copper and zinc levels in soils overlying copper deposits in Orange County, Vermont. The studies successfully showed that even deposits covered by glacial till can be revealed though the use of trace element geochemistry combined with careful soil sampling. This publication mentions the
    Elizabeth mine
and discusses its ore briefly. This is an interesting and historic area and this publication provides a good glimpse not only into the geology and mining of Vermont but also the evolution of exploration methods.  This is only the second one of these I have ever had in years of dealing in these sorts of items.
Expert packing assured. The recent increase in postage rates was pretty big. As a result, Media Mail is now my default shipping method to keep shipping affordable.
