LARGE Vintage Lakota Sioux Beaded Lizard
Umbilical
Fetish
This piece has some age to it. The leather
tassels
are no longer supple. It measures approximately 9" long (plus leather
tassel
and handle) x approximately 3 3/4" wide. See close-ups.
Please examine all pictures very closely as they constitute
the majority of the description.
This has the traditional slit and stitching on the underside for the umbilical cord insertion.  Plains Indians used these as a protection piece.  The mother would make them and keep them until the child becomes an adult and then would give it to them.

We DO NOT ship to ANY 3rd party forwarder or 3rd party warehouse shippers who provide overseas forwarding.  Per eBay POLICY and for mutual protection we ONLY ship to your PayPal verified address on file.
Your package will arrive gift wrapped and ready to share.  If there is a price tag, that tag will be removed from the item so it can be given as a gift.  It will be sent in padding within a bubble envelope.
All items have tracking.  However, we don’t add insurance unless the time is above .  If you require insurance for below , or a personal signature, please notify us BEFORE paying so we can send an accurate invoice as that will cost a bit more.
Please watch your mailbox or porch for the package as insurance Do Not cover porch theft/mailbox theft.  If it is delivered and then stolen, there is nothing we can do to help beyond providing paperwork if you want to submit a police report.  We haven’t had this happen to any of our clients.  But we have heard horror stories.  So, whether it is with us or any other seller, watch your mailboxes.

I identify stones to the best of my ability.  Turquoise may or may not be treated.  If I know it is block turquoise, coral, or opal, I will state so.  Understand I am not an expert.  I can only base it on why my Dad taught me when he repaired jewelry.  I test stones using the hot needle test and if silver isn't marked sterling or 925, I will test using magnet and ice.
If there is a hallmark, I will do my best to identify the artist.
