Vintage NATIVE AMERICAN Glass Beaded SOUVENIR New England

Description

The folks from Massachusetts from whom I purchased this item from about 40 years ago told me they used to stop alongside the roadway and buy these souvenir items from Native Americans at their roadside stands only in New England. That's all the provenance I have.
I was told this was a watch hutch for men with pocket watches to hang on the wall next to their bed. Completely made by hand, the front fabric is mauve cotton and the back side has polished cotton. The beads are glass with one bottom loop with missing beads and BEWARE ~ some sawdust is falling out near the loose thread!
